25/10/97:
First public launch. Main points of interest being several mazes
presented as GIF images and the blackbox applet. HTML constructed
with a wysiwyg editor, rather messy. No frames.
07/12/97:
Frames introduced for the maze gallery and odd-one-out page.
More mazes and odd-one-out puzzles added (plus solutions). New
tile puzzle applet added (including 40 GIF files). Wysiwyg HTML
editor abandoned; most HTML tidied or rewritten.
25/01/98:
New maze catagory introduced, with two new mazes: Celtic and
Pipes. 3D tilt maze and knight's tour applets added. Colour scheme
switched to basically black-on-white throughout with a personal
background texture.
HTML fully tidied and restructured into directories.
19/02/98:
Two more 3D tilt mazes added, plus a 2D version introduced, with
two more mazes of its own. Tile puzzle rewritten to draw its
own graphics (much faster to load). HTML maze added plus a links
page, history page and applet information page.
22/04/98:
Tilt Puzzles introduced and 2D/3D tilt mazes reworked to make
use of the new base classes (all tilt objects now exhibit a reasonable
slide/roll motion). Three more tile puzzle tile-sets added.
24/03/99:
Just lots of new mazes in the maze gallery.
09/10/99:
Relaunch of the 2D tilt mazes, with lots of new mazes and an
extensive range of multi-goal mazes. Small fixes and enhancements
to other Java. One or two new mazes in the maze gallery.
08/12/99:
Rolling-block colour-zone mazes introduced.
12/03/00:
Hysteresis mazes and marble tilt mazes introduced.
Code for 2D tilt mazes revamped to avoid repaint and reload problems.
04/06/00:
Website christened www.clickmazes.com. Maze of life
added, plus a write-up on the development of NEWS and
RULES, including colour-box puzzles and link to Grahams lattice
puzzles. A couple of updates to the maze gallery.
03/07/00:
Plank puzzles introduced.
13/07/00:
New look page launched (design by Brett). Major update to
maze of Life page.
13/08/00:
Maze of life page updated
with findings provided by Carl Hoff
(lots of extra goals, analysis, and solutions).
01/10/00:
Oskars Dragon maze added,
plus updated plank puzzles
page.
26/11/00:
Link to Graham's interactive maze applet added in the main
maze gallery. A little tidying.
03/01/01:
No-left-turn maze added, plus the all new (old?) attic
gallery containing lots of ancient, hand-draw mazes from
the archives. Octiamond Maze added to the main
maze gallery, plus a special interest page entitled
an introduction to structured maze design.
03/03/01:
Plank puzzle Fiendish [No.15] added,
plus solutions to all tile-puzzles
and updated maze gallery.
19/05/01:
Significant updates to maze of life and plank puzzles,
plus a new page covering Oskar's four-bit
mazes. Minor updates to other pages, including the addition
of several photos of mechanical puzzles designed by Oskar.
